eyeWe are in the information age of Blue Light specials. No not the old K-Mart “blue light specials,” or police or ambulance lights, but the Blue Light that is the emerging risk for eye health.

The five important tips you should know about Blue Light:

  1. Blue Light bombards our eyes daily from TVs, tablets, smartphones, computers, LED car headlights and certain indoor lighting.
  2. The Blue Light in the sky is less destructive than the artificial Blue Light. Our repeated exposure to artificial Blue Light breaks down eye structure and function.
  3. This light reaches deep into the eye causing short term eye fatigue and long term exposure for progressive loss of visual function. Oxidative damage from Blue Light can cause retinal detachment, macular degeneration and cataracts.
