Got an Old Shirt, Blouse, or Pants?

pile of old clothes

No, I am not asking for donations to a cause. Most of us have an old piece of clothing that is worn out or does not fit that we just can’t part with, there is some attachment. We can keep it around for years or find a way to clean our closet.

The same is true with our beliefs that are driving us to try and keep our same way of thinking and make things work. In reality the old beliefs don’t work well or at all. So if we try hard to keep making things “go our way,” we only increase our stress levels.

It is time to look at situations with a bigger view and see which thinking patterns are still useful to us. This can not be done while we are rushing though our days, and making lists in our heads of what needs to be done next.

We are living in a time of uncertainty. The world is changing. To adjust to this, awareness is the first step in seeing our world with a new view that is compatible with these changes. The only way one can connect is to find quiet time, have relaxation support and/or a meditative practice. This time allows for awareness and change to be accepted as one lets go of the old beliefs, the old clothes that don’t fit. Becoming conscious of our subconscious beliefs is a gateway to our own healing and expansion into the world changes.

When you find yourself on a vicious cycle, for goodness sakes stop peddling.
From “Spontaneous Evolution” by Bruce Lipton, MD

As I traveled to the southern US this past week, my eyes were opened to many things that have triggered changes in my beliefs about people and healing. This led me to choose a new meditation practice. By setting your intention, you will find what works for you and how to discard the old clothes that no longer serve you.
