As April begins to unfold, spring cleaning is on many people’s mind. “Oh I need to clean out our closets.” I suggest this year, each person start with their kitchen first. Look in your cupboards. Yes, wipe down the inside of the cabinets and refrigerator, but also look at expiration dates on each food item. Read the expiration dates, and ingredients. If you can’t pronounce the ingredient or the item has more than 5 ingredients it should be discarded. Do you want to know what some of those ingredients really are? You can find them described in this book: “A Consumer’s Dictionary of Food Additives”, or “A Consumer’s Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients”, both books by Ruth Winter, M.S. (paperback, used or kindle) You will be surprised.
